Triton

According to lore, the ocean god Persana personally intervened to bring the Triton people to Zor's seas in response to the havok being wrought by Krakens, Sahaugin, and other servants of evil god Sekolah. The stories say that Persana opened a rift from the Elemental Plane of Water near the center of the modern day Inner Sea. It is believed that this act is actually responsible for the creation of the Inner Sea.
Regardless of their origins, the Triton people primarily reside in a a large protectorate within the Inner Sea. These Tritons take enormous pride in the relative safety of the Inner Sea compared to the rest of Zor's seas and oceans. Over the centuries some Tritons have immigrated to the land, particularly the Kaeol Capital of Niodran. It is not uncommon for these "Surface Tritons" to work as mercenaries protecting merchant expeditions.
In recent years Tritons have begun establishing colonies in the Azure Sea in response to rumors of a rising Sahaugin threat. Worryingly, a few of these colonies have disappeared under mysterious circumstances.
