Semuanya, the infinite struggle

Semuanya is historically understood to be a Lizardfolk deity concerned primarily with survival And reproduction. The reality is a bit more complicated than this, however. While she is most similar in form to the Lizardfolk - she is even able to change her sex as many reptiles do - her larger concern is with the push and pull between forces that, left unchecked, may threaten the delicate balance that ensures the continuing survival of life on the material planes.
From her native plane, the neutral aligned Outlands, Semuanya has regularly seen the destruction that can ensue when one plane or another gains too much influence. She has a particular concern about the activities of Sekolah on Zor. She fears his exile to a realm in the material planes may upset The Balance, a representation of the mutual regulation planes exert on one another to prevent catastrophic instabilities in the cosmos. His initial efforts at claiming Zor for himself were stopped by Persana’s intervention, but Semuanya fears that he is preparing for a resurgence.
At the same time, her attention on Zor has been increasingly drawn to the influence of an unknown extra-planar force that may pose more of a threat to The Balance than even Sekolah. This presence has so far eluded her gaze, prompting her to seek more followers from outside the people groups who have historically followed her.

Tenets of Faith

There are two basic branches of Semuanyan worshippers - progressives and traditionalists.
Traditionalists focus on a historic understanding of the god as one who prioritizes survival and propagation at any cost. In this view, any act that is performed for the survival of oneself or one’s clan is justifiable insomuch as it is necessary. They advocate for confrontation through war against any entity that poses a threat to their clan, as well as self-sufficiency and isolation from societies outside the Semuanyan faith.
The progressive branch view the belief in survival and propagation at all costs as a perspective that was once needed to protect against the extinction of species like the Lizardfolk. However, they believe that Semuanya’s greatest priority is the preservation of a natural balance in which the greatest variety of life can be sustained. These followers still believe in waging war against threats to the continued existence of oneself and one’s clan, but they also see tolerance of and cooperation with others as an vital part of Semuanya’s teachings.

Semuanaya’s primary goal is the survival of nature and life on the material planes. She is one of several deities, including Obad-Hai and Fharlanghn, who share a mutual concern about the preservation of The Balance on Zor.
