Governor Gilliam Finnstock, Protector of the Cliff
The city of Silver Cliff chooses a governor for the city every 6 years based on the recommendations of the city’s council of elite citizens, typically representatives from the various merchant guilds, religious organizations and the military. This council governs itself and has a great deal of oversight on the governor. Governor Gilliam Finnstock is the current governor in his third year of rule. The half-elf is quite popular among the citizenry, though as the first leader of elven blood in Veruun for centuries, there are obvious tensions with the aristocracy in Silver Cliff and beyond. The Grand Duchess has denounced his election and threatened sanctions if the man is elected once more after his tenure.
