Alu-Quessir
Alu-Quessir (water people), or sea elves, are the only type of elves known to exist in Zor. As such, they are primarily called Quessir (people) by themselves and other aquatic races, and are referred to as elves by most land-dwelling races. Hailing largely from areas to the west of The Continent, particularly Fharlanghn’s Reach, they have been exploring the world’s oceans for millennia.
Quessir are largely tribal, having long outlived any concept of kingdoms in the ever-shifting currents of the world. Many, if not most, worship either Fharlanghn or Ehlonna, depending on whether their tribe favors exploration or the conservation of life. They have an abiding connection with the creatures of the sea, which frequently puts them at odds with both the Sahuagin and the Koalinth, who they see as preying upon or seeking to dominate aquatic life.
Recently, the Sea Princes have increasingly come into conflict with the elves as well. Their physical traits make them well suited to treasure hunting, making them frequent targets of slavers. This development has led to an increasing presence of sea elves in the Azure Sea, as tribes begin to establish a presence there in hopes of emancipating their brethren.
