Large Dodo's
Basic Information
Anatomy
These birds didn't have much in common with the extinct Dodo here on planet Earth. No they would have rather looked a lot like terror birds. The way they were standing high on their legs and their ability to run fast distances.
Biological Traits
The bird was known to sleep with one eye open.
Genetics and Reproduction
An adult Large Dodo lay one egg every year, at least that was when they lived inside the wild. When they became domesticated they were bred to lay more eggs. The chicks stay one year with their mother and after that they need to fend for themselves.

Geographic Origin and Distribution
They could be found all over Valeron, which was a moon covered with forest. That was before the empire turned it into a mine, and the trees needed to make way for houses, the mine and space shuttle platforms.
Perception and Sensory Capabilities
The Large Dodo was a fast runner reaching over 130 km/h, besides that they were able to hold this speed for over an hour. They however couldn't reach this speed at the end of their timeline and only reached 80km/h at best.

They were discovered as soon as the moon Valeron, which was not inhabited by a human life form. Who discovered them is unclear, the expedition was not well documented.Exploration
It took the empire a hundred years to domesticate these brides, they were used for transport of Dragonfire Crystal and Dragonsteel from the mines to the Spaceshuttle platforms. They were also kept for their meat and eggs.Extinction
When the last bird died it didn't come as a shock, there were no wild birds left and no way to introduce new blood to the existing lines, that one by one became infertile.

A well-researched and written article. The birds' description, discovery, and journey to extinction captivated me. I also like the details listed down the side with the tech specs of the Large Dodos. Does the black market trade in the Bones and DNA of these birds?
