Born Victoria Lawson, daughter to Ruthard Lawson, Lord of the Aaludian Empire in the Kingdom of Highpass . The Lawson family prided themselves with their magical aptitude, often serving kingdom, realm, and church as Eldritch Knights or wizards.
Every family member from the first generations were either skilled sword wielders or spell caster, and Victoria and her two brothers, Manfred and Joan, Victoria's eldest siblings, began their training at a young age. However, as she grew older, it soon became clear that Victoria was incapable of spell casting. When she was around 5 years old, she began to develop a strange anger that would lead her to fits of rage. It prevented her from casting spells or thinking through strategy.
Her failure to succeed brought shame upon her family name, and so she began to withdraw into her books and the stories from the library. The story that she always loved best, was the story of the First Lawcraft and their Blade of the Rune Scribe, a powerful blade wielded by the first Lawcraft Battle Mage. She began infatuated with the story of this blade, believing it to be real, but never finding proof.
When she was around 6, her father, Ruthard, died and her brother ascended to the throne. Victoria was never told the reason for his passing as by this time she was withdrawn from most of her family members and their disapproval. She did her best to study her magic, but her responsibilities shifted to entertaining the courts as a Lady, and not as a soldier. However, this life would not last long as The Darkness came and her home fell when she was around 9. She doesn’t remember much about that night when the remains of her family were forced to flee Highpass, just awakening in the middle of the night by her eldest sister, Joan. Joan told Victoria to flee, and pushed her into the passages that wound through the keep. Victoria doesn’t remember how she escaped, but remembers joining the refuges as the Darkness consumed the land.
It’s been 16 years since her brother was slain in the siege of Highpass and she was forced to flee. Since then, she has survived thanks to the anger that burns within her, that she is unable to control. Now, she yearns to find the fate of her family, and to find the Rune Scribe, so that one day she can drive back the darkness and take back her homeland.
