Whispers in the North... cold winds blow. Whole families have gone missing, and rumors of a dead returning back to life. Rumors of an ancient evil has returned, will you answer the call?
This your chance to play a level 20 character, one-shot for 3-4 hours.
What?
- Trek to Barovia to Castle Ravenloft to defeat a ancient evil that has returned
- 1st hour role-play, 2-3 hours of hardcore combat in Talespire
- Gothic Horror style game
When?
- Friday, 2/18, 5-9p EST
- Takes place in the year 442 (semi-persistent) with the ongoing story. Character death could happen.
- Game will be streamed.
How?
- Level 20
- Start with 805,000 gp. Use yourdnd.com to type the item into search to find prices to spend your gold on.
- Artifacts with listed "priceless" (like Hand of Vecna) are NOT available (helps simplify things for me).
- Once you got a character ready in DNDBeyond.com, feel free to link it over for final review.
Who?
- Only people that have been accepted into the Adventures In Zin discord server.
- Please have a stable connection. Anyone late on start time will not be allowed in, so being early or on-time for this game is required. Zoom invite will go out 15 mins early
- I'm thinking max 7 players will be selected. 4 on day of play will needed to continue, otherwise it will be cancelled.
- High level of D&D experience required, so if you've played tier 3 or tier 4 play before (as DM or player).
More info:
- I will be play testing with new legendary actions mechanics using action points and being able to spend them after any turn (buff to legendary actions/monsters, and simplifying the legendary actions). I will be creating the creature and rolling in yourdnd.com (too difficult/time consuming to create this creature in DND Beyond with their script since it is a custom creature).
- The creature will get total legendary actions = party size - 1. (A party of 7 = 6 legendary actions points.) (Also plus 3 action points as a standard creature.)
- I will most likely just be playing 1 monster due to the complexity of the fight.
- Chance of death is obviously high... but its ok, you're level 20... right??? right????
- Expect maximum cheese on both sides for combat.
- Just go with the flow as well ;) There will be blood.
- I don't know how overtuned/undertuned this fight will be b/c the monster was made by another DM, just have fun and fulfill your fantasy as playing a level 20.
