Seyda

Port town and sister city to Northvale, Seyda sits on the eastern coast of Caldor Island. Seyda is the sole trading post for the island and is the place Northvale imports many of its goods from. Anyone looking to travel to the continent can find a ship at its docks.   The settlement is built upon marine terraces, with low cliffs overlooking the water below and these levels of connected by wooden stairs and ramps. The streets are made of cobbled stone and packed dirt and the ebb and flow of the ocean waves resound throughout the town more than they normally would, thanks to the natural acoustics of the town's surrounding cliffs.

Defences

The defenses are minimal, and mostly come from being surrounded by cliffs. Monsters never come near and bandits and pirates are unheard of in this area. If the need ever arose, the townsfolk have the means to form a decently-sized militia.

Architecture

Many of the houses have a similar look, generally whitewashed walls with cool-colored tiled roofs (greens and blues). Some of the larger buildings have features that are not dissimilar. The governor's manor is clearly made of better materials and impressive, but not overly ostentatious. The houses in the slums are of course of cheaper materials and of below-average construction (thatched roofs, walls of piled stone/mud/woven twigs, etc.).
