Yzgari Advanced Marksmanship Course
The Yzgari Advanced Marksmanship Course began as a training program for new recruits to the band of highly trained mercenaries called the Yzgari Collective, which specialized in identifying and eliminating enemy officers, specialists, and snipers. After being targeted for destruction by several Pact militias, the Yzgari Collective discontinued active military operations and opened the now-famous Marksmanship Course in exchange for its continued survival.
Each student elects a weapon type to master at the outset of the course, with the most common being beamer, pulsar, and lance weapons. The first stage of the course involves learning the operating principles of the weapon system, culminating in the creation of a customized version of the student’s personal weapon. The second stage of the course focuses on acquiring and optimizing firing solutions with and without computer assistance, taking into account factors like atmospheric composition, temperature, and energy dissipation at range.
The final stage of the course is the longest and most grueling, consisting of live-fire exercises against drones and androids in various environments. These androids are often Caramaeus models, piloted remotely by Yzgari instructors. In each of the exercises, the student is required to demonstrate extreme accuracy, exceptional weapon handling, and the ability to operate under pressure.
At the end of the course, graduates are gifted with a small metal eye charm—the traditional symbol of the Yzgari Collective—to wear as a necklace. In an informal study conducted among Pact forces, Yzgari-trained marksmen were nearly twice as accurate and effective as their rank-and-file counterparts.
