Ripple Beacon

Simple but Effective

Ripple Beacon.png
Nothing like what the Wave38ers have but she gets the job done. I like the way it sounds, the crackle crackle before something opens and we get to see what comes through. Most of the time I hope it's a new herbivore or person, a lot of the time I fear its gonna be a nothing but a mouth full of teeth and a heart full of hunger.
— Keeper Herd Master

Made to keep the Keepers safe and mimic what the Wave 38 have. A rather simplified version of a Time Portal, a Ripple Beacon still functions much the same. Tall fourteen-foot rods pushed into the ground and held up with tension cables, a large flat stone disk with what looks like celestial signs and markings on it sit at the base. The only things the Keepers will ever say is they are simple but effective and they wish to help the tribes of Tyleth build them so they can learn to settle down and build permanent settlements.

Discovery

Josiah Blake was a worker inside on of the refining forges for Darringtinium Ore. His first hand knowledge and peeping the work of Lucretia Darrington in production gave him a few thoughts when working out how to help protect The Keepers settlements out in the WildLands after the Wave 38 and Keeper split. Though Ripple Beacons would not be a fully fleshed out or tested like their predecessor, Time Portals, though they would function in a similar way.

Utility

Each Beacon is placed about a half a mile away from Keeper settlements, generally, about four to six of them are placed in a circle around the settlement, what some call a protection ring. The Ripple Beacons draw Time Ripples away from the majority of the settlements and give the settlement relative peace.

Manufacturing

It takes about a week to produce enough Darringtinium to make the components to make these beacons. Then about another week to shape and produce the Darringtinium pieces for the beacons. The only major differences in the process of Darringtinium for Ripple Beacons is the metal is not as refined as the Darringtinium used for the Time Portals, but it seems to be more than enough to do the job.

Access & Availability
Currently only The Keepers have this, though they seem to have this particular structure and well the technology thereof. Though they could be persuaded to trade the tech to the nomad tribes.
