Terradillo
"Boulders aren't usually spherical." -Beedle WanderstoneTerradillos are giant armadillos with the innate arcane ability to partially control earth, often wrapping itself in dirt or rock for protection.
Basic Information
Anatomy
Terradillos have long, fairly skinny heads, an armor "shell" and long tails. The shell is made from small bony plates that grow in bands, usually between 11 and 13. They are typically grey with a pink underbelly. Terradillos can have between 80 and 100 teeth which grow constantly throughout their lives. They also have extremely long third claws which assist in burrowing. Adult males can grow up to 15 feet long and weigh up to 500 pounds.
Dietary Needs and Habits
"Under stress, the terradillo seemed to magically bury itself. The caiman, despite its savage arcane and physical assault, was unable to break through and left, unsatisfied." -from My Days in the Jungle by Ferdinand HertalsonTerradillos are solitary creatures spending the majority of their life alone. They are nocturnal and spend most of the day burrowed underground. Their diet consists mainly of bugs such as ants or spiders, but they can also eat snakes and small mammals. When threatened, terradillos will roll themselves into a ball and attract dirt or rock to their shell giving themselves extra protection.
