Kinkinkajou

Kinkinkajou, or simply kajou, are always born as twins adjoined at the tail. Despite what would appear as a hindrance, the kajou have adapted to utilize the connection and are notably mischievous.

Basic Information

Anatomy

"I remember seeing a kinkinkajou for the first time on my second visit to Vorthal: I awoke in the night to rustling near the rucksacks and, upon lighting my lantern, found two small creatures. They quickly retreated into the woods, and it wasn't until years later that I learned they were adjoined. I've always wondered how they would keep as a pet..."   -Maximus Dovat
The individual body of adult kajous is between 14 and 20 inches in height, weighing about six pounds. They have a woolly fur coat, usually yellow-brown in appearance. The tail connecting the two bodies of the kajous is usually about 18 inches in length and is prehensile, although it isn't understood whether one kajou or both control it.

Dietary Needs and Habits

Kajou are nocturnal, and spend most of the day in the understory of the forest. During the night they forage for food, mostly fruits although they have been seen eating insects, such as ants.
