Acitoad

"I like frogs. I even think they are a bit cute. But no way I want anything to do with those damned toads."   -Beedle Wanderstone
Acitoads are giant toads that secrete a slightly caustic toxin from their skin and in their saliva. They are known for being extremely aggressive, especially towards smaller animals to include humanoids.

Basic Information

Anatomy

Female acitoads are significantly larger than males, typically reaching sizes of ten feet and seven feet respectively. Females can weigh up to 300 pounds while males usually don't exceed 240 pounds. Their skin warty and they lack the webbed feet of their frog cousins. Acitoads have a distinct bumpy ridge along the top of their eye and down their neck. They tend to be yellow-brown or red-brown in color with dark spots. They have horizontal pupils with golden irises.   Acitoads secrete a layer of caustic mucus on their skin as defence. While the mucus does present some danger with prolonged contact, the most common complaint from explorers is slight irritation of the skin.

Ecology and Habitats

One of the strange findings of acitoads is their preference for habitating areas close to civilization. While their presence helps lower the risk of other dangerous animals, they also present a threat to those trying to travel away from cities and camps.

Dietary Needs and Habits

Acitoads appear to be willing to eat any creature, living or dead, as long as it can swallow it and have been known for randomly attacking entire caravans, showing no regard for number of potential threats, only size.. They can spit a ball of sticky and caustic mucus to prevent faster creatures from running.
