Journal 36: How I learned to embrace Bayonne

Setting out on the road, the party moves away from the undead settlements in Fenelon toward a disturbed city that seems to deny villagers are disappearing

Created by Wren for the Valdorin campaign

General Summary

Rael receives a sending from Ulfgar, who is Morbelgion's prisoner. Morbelgion made him unleash 'them' (the angelic murder creatures?). Fedrin is still unconscious. We make plans; Sirius reminds us we need to do something about the owlbear (prince Eryn). We plan to go north together with team Bravo, then go our separate ways. To find our way we will try to follow the river.   While camping (day 1), we fight undead dire wolfs. They burn well; crispy dog. The next day we are ambushed on a bridge by some goblins and a dire boar. In the end, we manage to kill the goblins. Shynt almost burns down the forest. Among the loot we find a ledger book, which shows a goblin village nearby. Sir Gravix lives in this village. Later that day we meet some Raven Queen paladins. They are on their way to investigate the rumours that an undead creature is living nearby (aka Jean-Pierre Lebas de Fenelon-Chaussy d'Edouart). We convince the paladins that we have already 'dealt with the undead menace'. They invite us to join them back to party with them in their village. Their leader is called Chris Edward. We follow them back to Bayonne, their town, and go to an inn and party!   The next day two of the paladins are missing, but Chris denies it. This looks very shady to Wren and Rael. We go to the temple of the Raven Queen, and Harvey Cecil talks to the high priest, Muir. The high priest seems mad, and tells Harvey Cecil there is a cult in the city. Harvey Cecil forgets to ask about a Break Curse spell or scroll for Eryn, and leaves the old man. Then, we go looking for horses.
