Boartongue
Boartongue is the formerly independent and newest member of the Federation of Braodor, having joined the Federation on 025-07-14 as a self-governing union of anarcho-communist communes.
Recently, on 223-05-03, the city has had an incident involving something the locals call the "Blackthorn Grove."
Demographics
Boartongue is the only human-majority city in the Federation. Half-Hobgoblins, or Gaba, are the second most common, followed by Dwarves, Hobgoblins, Orcs, Goblins, and there are small populations of Dragonborn and Lizardfolk as well.
There are about 50,000 people in the Union of Communes, which is made up of 5 Communes, with 70 Wards in each Commune. A ward contains roughly 150 people. People generally identify with what ward and commune they live in primarily, though abroad they know they'll generally be referred to as "Boartavian."
Government

Each Commune has a Commune Council, made up of two members of each ward chosen by direct election (140 people in each Council) for a term of two years. Each one of these Councils work together to provide each member of the Union what they need; if the Commune of La Ville Ancienne wants to establish an omnibus route from one end of the city to the other, they might trade a particularly good beer supply for use of carriages made in Miner's Alley.
Each ward has a 10-person Ward Council to govern the day to day operation of the neighborhood, selected by sortition.
History
Since prehistory, the region now known as Boartongue was occupied by nomadic, hunter-gatherer human tribes.
Obril Colonization: Founding of Ft. Boartongue, a bastardization of the name of the hill it was built on, Baht'uung in the native language.
This fort developed and grew for hundreds of years, and as it grew more and more industry developed.
The Revolution came, setting the humans and other slaves free.
