Normaer

Normaer is home to the Norveen people.

Geography

The bulk of Normaer's land area is the rocky hills of the interior highlands, but its shape does include an extensive coastline region made of relatively shallow coastal plains.

Climate

Normaer's climate is humid, hot and sunny, while also being interspersed with extensive rains, ranging from week long light rains and clouds to sudden mighty downpours that are over just as fast as they started.    Winters are mild, and locally are thought of as more of a "wet season" than a winter, as an increased frequency of rain is the only noticeable consequence for most people.   Summer hail storms are frequent, as updrafts caused by the warm summers send precipitation back into the upper atmosphere.   In all, Normaer's climate is probably the most mild at its latitude, compared to the deserts of Nehemen, and the Chuulth Jungle.

Fauna & Flora

Most of the plant and animal activity in the highlands is largely shaped by the presence of the large herds of sheep kept by the Norveen highlanders. Tough, fast growing grasses blanket the soil and lichen thrives in colorful splashes on the sides of exposed rocks. Trees appear in occasional copses and groves in the low places between hills.   The warm coastal waters and Silt Bay are home to a vibrantly complex aquatic ecosystem, and aquatic and amphibious animals are a frequent sight on the coastal lowlands.
