The Azure Expanse is the largest ocean on Zalthera, its name derived from its ever-shifting hues—from the placid cobalt of its shallows to the near-black gradients above the trench. It is both a cradle of civilization and a watery veil, concealing ancient secrets beneath reflective waves.
Above the Velthren Trench, the waters shimmer faintly, said to glow with the dreams of the Oceanmind. No storm crosses the Expanse without Thal’vanna’s knowledge. Sea routes here are sentient—changing subtly based on the Queen's will, pushing some vessels toward destiny and others toward doom.

- Spiral currents spiral from the Aquavanthe conduit and cause magical anomalies like dream tides, reversed gravity pockets, or siren fogs.
- Merchants must tithe offerings to the Spiral Reef Envoys to pass safely into the deeper dominion.
