Overview
Azhi-Kael, once the mightiest warrior of the heavens, now rules as the Lord of the Nine Hells, the first and greatest of the devils. Originally created as the first human by Torva, he was crafted with no divine purpose—only the gift of free will. Yet, his destiny was shaped by the gods.
Azhi-Kael helped the gods command the celestial legions in the war against the Endless Maw, and became the Chainbearer, wielding unbreakable divine chains against the Devourer and ascending to become Torvas archangel. However, after the war, he was given one final task—to imprison the maddened god, Malitheran, within the abyss.
The chains he forged for this prison were corrupted, twisted by the gods whispers. In binding the god, Azhi-Kael himself was undone. His once-pure chains darkened into instruments of tyranny, control, and enslavement. In that moment, he fell, transforming into the first devil, and from his will, the Nine Hells were born.
Personality
Azhi-Kael is depicted as cold, calculating, and merciless. Unlike demons, which are mindless in their destruction, he seeks order—but an order ruled by absolute dominion. He believes that control is the highest form of power, that all things must be bound by laws, contracts, and hierarchies that none can escape.
He does not act in rage or emotion, but with meticulous precision. Every move is calculated. Every contract he forges is a chain upon the soul, a bond that can never be broken.
Appearance
Azhi-Kael’s true form is depicted as terrifying yet regal. He appears as a tall, armored figure, with massive chains coiling around his body like serpents. His halo is cracked and broken, burning with dim embers, and his once-radiant wings are now dark, and metallic
His eyes burn with the weight of judgment, and his voice carries the weight of unbreakable law. Some claim that even the gods hesitate before speaking his name, for contracts sealed with his word are binding beyond even divine decree.
Chains of Dominion
Azhi-Kael’s chains are no longer instruments of justice, but tools of absolute control. He can bind gods, mortals, and even the fabric of reality itself. His chains create the source of unbreakable contracts, ensnaring those who seek power in eternal servitude.
Lord of the Nine Hells
As ruler of the Hells, Azhi-Kael has supreme authority over all devils. He created the first devils from fallen angels and warriors who sought power through law and domination.
Master of Contracts
Unlike demons, devils do not act through brute force—they bind mortals through contracts. Azhi-Kael’s pacts are infallible, his promises unyielding. Those who sign away their souls cannot escape, no matter what power they seek.
Unbroken Will
Azhi-Kael has never wavered in his belief. He does not see himself as fallen, but as the rightful ruler of all things. No power—mortal or divine—can sway him from his path.
The Nine Hells: His Domain
Azhi-Kael’s fall shaped the Nine Hells, a realm of absolute order twisted into tyranny. Unlike the Abyss, which is chaotic and monstrous, the Hells are a structured, hierarchical nightmare where every soul is bound by eternal law.
Each layer of the Hells is ruled by a powerful devil, but all ultimately answer to Azhi-Kael. No soul enters the Hells by accident—only those who make pacts, break divine law, or seek power beyond their means find themselves bound to his realm.
Unlike demons, devils do not waste their power on mindless destruction. They infiltrate, corrupt, and turn rulers, kings, and nations into their puppets—all through contracts and chains of unbreakable law.
Azhi-Kael’s Legacy in the Mortal World
The Corruption of Law
Wherever law is twisted into oppression, Azhi-Kael’s influence lingers. He is worshiped in secret by tyrants, kings who rule through fear, and those who see control as the only path to stability.
Pacts with Mortals
Warlocks who seek dominion over others, who crave power through law, order, and authority, find themselves drawn to Azhi-Kael. His contracts are the most ironclad in existence—no loophole, no escape, no betrayal.
A Rival to the Gods
Unlike other fallen beings, Azhi-Kael does not seek to destroy the gods—he seeks to replace them. Where they rule through faith, he rules through law. Where they offer choice, he offers certainty.
Many gods fear him, for even they cannot break his contracts.
