Tanes (tahn-es)

(a.k.a. The Sorceress, The Lady in White, The Mistress of Magic)

Tanes, otherwise known as The Sorceress or The Lady in White, is the goddess of Magic, Mystery, Intrigue, and Puzzles. She is generally believed to be the sister of Oses although some scholars still debate this point due to the seemingly lack of interaction between the two goddesses. She is said to seemingly have a different personality to everyone she speaks to even in the same room. As far as scholars can decipher this is an intentional act by the goddess to mask her intentions through misdirection and subterfuge. She is known to take a hands off approach to interacting with mortals seeming to know what benefits restraint can yield yet, she has also shown to involve herself directly if the need should arise. She is most strongly associated with mages, scholars of magic, and practitioners of magic the world thereover. She is most strongly worshipped in the Abasid Caliphate, but is worshipped in most societies throughout the world. She usually appears as slender young woman dressed in all white carrying a staff of white wood in one hand and holding a small white dragon on the other arm.
