Ivara (E-var-uh)
(a.k.a. The Lover, The Matchmaker, The Suitor)
Ivara, otherwise known as the Lover or the Matchmaker, is the goddess of Love, Beauty, Passion, and Marriage. She is the fraternal twin sister of Xiara and is said to be similar in personality to her in that she is free-flowing and impulsive. She is associated with weddings and young women and is most strongly worshipped by newlyweds, young lovers, and by people on their wedding anniversaries. She is said by scholars to love interfering in the lives of mortals especially to bring together to people in love, but is said to hold a grudge like no other if forsaken by someone. Worship of her is spread broadly throughout the world and doesn't center too heavily in any one place. She is almost always depicted as and appears as a beautiful young woman wearing a flowing white and gold dress.
