Sultana Alurah bint Asrah
Allurah has a dark reputation as a crafty schemer who has risen from scullery girl to the Sultans favorite wife. Never mind that the Sultans previous favorite wives all met with terrible accidents; often far removed from Allurah herself, so that she would never be implicated. And of course, when the sultan himself died suddenly in 1462 DR during a dinner, Allurah was able to convince her allies in Huzuz, Prince Tannous al-Assad chief among them, that she alone could quell the chaos that ensued after her husband's death.

History
Allurah is Khalil's cousin via marriage to his Uncle Tannous al-Assad's oldest son, Hamad al-Assad. After Hamad's death, Allurah became Sultana of Hiyal and relations between her and Khalil became strained. While Tannous may be fooled by Allurah's facade, Khalil suspects that there may be more to his favorite cousin's death.
