Almost all Alfseinens speak Elvish, even those who aren't of Elven decent, and of course Common is widely spoken as well.

Average technological level

The people of Alfsein haven't focused on technological development, but that doesn't mean it hasn't happened. They've found methods of combining the magic of their people with the technology of other countries they've traded for. Such as the magically powered steam machines that they adapted from the machines traded from Cretuin. However, such devices are used by few people, and are therefore not widely used.

Common Etiquette rules

It is considered rude to not greet people with your name upon first meeting them, non-Elvish outsiders are given some leniency in this social rule.
It is rude to needlessly use magic in public spaces.
Duels are allowed publicly, but only until first blood, otherwise hold them in private.

Common Dress code

In Alfsein people will often dress in vibrant earthy colors, often in tunics, robes, and dresses. Practicality allows for alterations, but people often look poorly on people with ratty clothes.

Common Customs, traditions and rituals

Alfseinen people celebrate the holy day of Fresdri, Sul Duulon by feasting and by planting a new tree in the jungles around their towns.
Most other holidays only get a simple feast.

Coming of Age Rites

When an Alfseinen comes of age, they are sent out to seek an instructor and learn a trade for themselves. Whether that be laboring, crafting, or even scholarly pursuits, it matters only if an instructor will take you.

Funerary and Memorial customs

In Alfsein, when a person dies, they are given to the land so that new life may grow from their death.

Common Taboos

It is forbidden for any work knowledge of the Mithral Grove's location to reveal it to anyone, under penalty of death to them and any they told.
It is forbidden to raise corpses of citizens using necromancy, and other forms of raised dead are frowned upon

Ideals

Courtship Ideals

Courtship among Alfseinens is rather intriguing, for as soon as they begin they often stay away from each other for a year. This is to prove that they are patient enough to think things through before committing. After the separation, they then spend a year in extreme close living, barely separating from each other. This is to ensure that they can be around each other. However, in recent years these traditions have become less common, they are still practiced if somewhat altered from place place in Alfsein.
