Reto Battard
Backstory
Reto was born on a small island, called Skaug, within the Archipelago of Shadesea. His father, a reformed pirate, found faith late in life and devoted himself to Valkur, the god sailors, favorable winds, and safe passage. Reto grew up hearing many stories of fierce storms, unforgiving seas, and the wicked will of the queen of the depths, Umberlee. But on the sea, he's been told, there is freedom. There is a whole world to explore, and safe passage will be granted to those who put their fate in their own hands and their faith in Valkur. Reto, a lithe and zealous young man, took to the sea with his first crew. After all, Captain Spalding was a respectful and experienced leader, and Reto would be a perfect addition to his patient crew. As the Amethyst unmoored and set sail, Reto could finally feel the breeze on his face, the sun on his shoulders, and wholeness that this is where he's meant to be.
