The Complete History of Yrnath

The Complete History of Yrnath, the book you are now reading, is dedicated to being the world's foremost explainer of all things. Within these pages, updated through extensive divine observations and diligent research, you will find information about events as far back as before the First Era, and as far forward as today. Note that, due to the vast amount of knowledge available within these pages and its ever-updating nature, one may find that the book seems to grow with time. For this reason one should not store this book on any ungrounded surfaces, such as a high shelf, or in any sort of upright configuration. Disregarding this advice poses a significant risk to your health and the stability of your home furnishings.

Origins

The book that you now hold in your hands was created by Intollus, the Lore Master, as part of their work while the universe was new. As the being responsible for the maintenance of this text, they have chosen to spend existence in many semi-mortal incarnations, each adopting a name befitting of the times into which they were born. In doing so, they are able to update this text with the knowledge of nearly a dozen lifetimes.   The first incarnation of Intollus was as a dragon named Kyr'ri, during which time they crafted the first edition of the text. Their efforts to chronicle the events of early civilization in Yrnath have been invaluable to modern historians, though as much of the writings are in an early precursor language, translating the text has been slow. What information has been translated, however, has radically altered much of the world's modern-day understanding of The Age of Creation and how sentient life on Yrnath came to be.   The second incarnation was as a tabaxi named Avikzit, to continue the work they had started as Kyr'ri.   The information about the third incarnation of Intollus has yet to be translated from the first edition of the Complete History.   The fourth incarnation was as an eladrin named Faruvir Galdathre. Thanks to how they were able to ingratiate themself into eladrin high society in the lead-up to the Eladrin Disappearance, historians have a much better idea of what might have led to the sudden loss of an entire group of people.   The name of the fifth incarnation, as well as information about the sixth and seventh incarnations, has yet to be translated from the first edition of the Complete History.   The eighth incarnation was as a human named Oliver Klein. During this incarnation, they created the second edition of the Complete History, designed to be distributed to others.   The ninth and tenth incarnations of Intollus have, due to the events of the Age of Domination, sadly been lost to time.   Of course, the book is still being maintained, as is rather obvious given its continued existence. I, as the eleventh incarnation of Intollus, have chosen to remain anonymous, such that my research is not swayed or interrupted by those who would endeavor to "correct" history to suit their own personal goals.
