Gregory is one of the few happy stories in this world. He was born a farmer, he grew up a farmer, and he is damned happy knowing he will die a farmer. He got married young, to Liza Tonneholm, a beautiful young halfling girl from a neighbouring farm. It was love at first site right up until the last. She passed away 3 years ago, no pain, no cultists, no worries, just her body had lived its fill of life and had to move on. Least that's how he saw it. He doubted he had much longer left himself. They were proud of the work they'd accomplished, prouder still of the help and home they'd given to the orphans of Haven, year after year they'd sponsored all they could. They never had a copper spare for no more, but they'd never complain either, it was a simple, happy, godly life.
The last few years had taken their toll on Gregory, Farming without Liza was more of a choir than it ever had been, but he had his boys to help him, and Simon Duringham was becoming of age and with that his burden would lessen. Simon's life had been far from easy in the eyes of Gregory, but he hoped he had set up the boy the best he could. He'd have a farm, a home, and maybe one day a fine lady like Liza, it wouldn't be a luxurious life, but it would be the life Gregory had always wanted to give him.
