Grandmaster of the Order
Qualifications
Eligibility Requirements: Grandmaster of the Order of the Phoenix
General Criteria
Aspect | Requirement |
---|---|
Species | Must be Mortal-Born, though usually Human or Elf—the dragons demand a heart that knows fragility and sacrifice. |
Age | Must be at least 40 years old or have completed 25 years of bonded service as a Dovahkiin. |
Gender | No restrictions—valor knows no gender. |
Height | Irrelevant—though dragons jest that a Grandmaster must “stand tall in spirit.” |
Lineage | No requirement for ancestry—the flame chooses the worthy, not their bloodline. |
Bond Status | Must have a living dragon bond for a minimum of 20 uninterrupted years, unless the dragon perished in honorable service. |
Knight Status | Must be a fully Knighted Dovahkiin (2nd Lieutenant rank or higher). Typically promoted through Captain and Phoenix Lord ranks. |
Wing Command Experience | Must have served as a Phoenix Lord (Wing Commander) for at least 5 years. |
Round Table Membership | Must already be a sitting member of the Knights of the Round Table, representing the Order of the Phoenix. |
Spiritual & Moral Requirements
Trait | Expectation |
---|---|
Wisdom | Must pass a spiritual evaluation conducted by the Council of Flames and approved by three dragons of Elder status. |
Honor | Must have no unresolved accusations of treason, moral compromise, or dishonorable conduct. |
Loyalty | Must swear undying fealty to the Order, the Crown, and the Flame Eternal. |
Balance | Must demonstrate the ability to lead with both mercy and wrath, as required by the soul of the Order. |
The Dragon’s Voice
Before the final mantle is granted, the candidate must stand before the Flamecaller Council, a convocation of at least five Elder Dragons, and undergo the Trial of the Flame.
This trial tests:
- Truth of Heart
- Strength of Bond
- Clarity of Purpose
- Flame of the Soul
Only if the dragons give their unanimous assent will the final ascension proceed.
Prohibited Candidates
Disqualification includes:
- Any former deserters, exiles, or dragon-bonded failures
- Anyone with magical corruption (void-touched, infernal pacts, necrotic influence)
- Anyone who has refused a summons of the Round Table
- Any who lie under magical oath
Requirements
Must be bonded with a Dragon.
Appointment

- Must be a Phoenix Lord with years of proven leadership, political wisdom, and spiritual alignment with the Order’s core.
- The Knights of the Round Table must approve by majority vote.
- The candidate’s dragon must display the Emberflame (a rare burning aura said to signify divine favor).
Duties
Overseeing all strategic decisions, diplomatic relations, and military operations.
Responsibilities
Grandmaster of the Order (O-11, General)
- Strategic direction of the Order and all wings.
- Advises the King and sits on the Knights of the Round Table.
- Approves large-scale deployments, diplomacy, and dragon-bonded protocols.
- Oversees order traditions, oaths, and knighthood ceremonies.
Grounds for Removal/Dismissal
Dismissal and Revocation of Title within the Order of the Phoenix
Core Principle
The Order holds its members to an unyielding code of honor, loyalty, and devotion. A violation of this code not only severs trust with the Order, but may also fracture the sacred bond between Dovahkiin and dragon.
Dismissal is rare, formal, and never taken lightly.
Grounds for Dismissal
- Dereliction of Duty
- Abandoning post or disobeying direct orders without just cause.
- Treason
- Acts that endanger the Order, its members, or the Kingdom it serves.
- Moral Corruption
- Abuse of power, war crimes, or actions unbefitting of a knight or rider.
- Failure of the Bond
- If a dragon rejects their rider, it is considered spiritual severance and is investigated immediately.
- Desertion
- Fleeing from battle or abandoning the Order.
- Corruption by Dark Forces
- Willful alignment with infernal, void-born, or draconic enemies.
Highest ranking commanding officer of any military unit.
