Slime Repellent

Unfortunately, slimes are banned in many inter-species public spaces in the Yonderverse without protective equipment. While on Osao there is no issue with slime trails, many people find it unsanitary and so slime repellent is used in large public areas to deter them.

Material Components

Slime repellent is a simple tool to craft. While the actual container has no effect on the repellent's quality, the only required material to make it is the sap of devil flowers. Devil flower sap is hard to come by, as are the flowers themselves, and therefore they're rather expensive. The sap is added to a solution of water, which is sprayed all around public spaces.

Some slime repellents are made with other flavours included. Devil flower sap is toxic to slimes, but unappealing to most other sophonts, so repellents usually contain additives that make the spray taste and smell pleasant.

Usage

Slime repellent has been used ever since slimes started travelling throughout space and congregating in public areas. Slimes have always had a difficult time fitting in, due to their gelatinous anatomy, which is unique amongst most sophonts in the Yonderverse. Slime repellent comes in the form of a misty spray, which is sprayed in large quantities on public surfaces, especially inside buildings such as pubs, inns and brothels.

History

Slime repellent was first documented being used about a thousand years ago. Most people viewed slimes to be dirty, unsanitary creatures, not qualified to be sophonts, and because of that were kicked out of any and all establishment owned by another species. It took hundreds of years of fighting back and rioting for laws to be put in place to protect these people.

Rules prevented people from kicking out slimes from establishments, which meant people were trying to figure out ways to make slimes want to leave, instead. When it became widely known that devil flowers were toxic to slimes, pub and other establishment owners would spray furniture with this slime repellent, to make slimes leave.

As time passed, people's opinions changed for the better and began accepting slimes for what they were. Slimes were instead encouraged to wear protective suits, to not get any gloop on furniture, floors, and any other places, but soon enough slimes were mostly accepted and welcomed into establishments.
