Grand Abyss
The Grand Abyss is located between Trecath and the Region of Sarra, along the Sarra plate and the Trecath plate. It is the deepest location on the planet's surface, 12,404m deep. It is home to hundreds of unknown creatures, very few creatures have been discovered. It is thought that the Grand Abyss may have an entrance to the Hell Zone in Greenerth's crust. Some of the few known species living in the Grand Abyss include the fossil fish, the felorca, kaiju ray and the incognito.
Geography
The Grand Abyss reaches down a whopping 12,404m deep. The entire trench is a curved "V" shape, getting steeper and steeper as it goes down. At the entrance of the abyss, there is a thin layer of sand that keeps on trickling down the abyss, slowly filling at the bottom.
History
This abyss was first seen explored (vaguely) by the eusteans that lived close by. Ancient texts read that the abyss was first seen roughly a hundred thousand years ago, by eusteans. 1956 was the first time harmonidsexplored this trench, their submarine was able to reach 4000m deep before resurfacing. They discovered almost 150 new plant species and over 70 animal species, both vertebrates and invertebrates. The harmonids exploration also discovered evidence that there may be another gateway to the hell zone, right at the bottom of the grand abyss, as there were impressive heat signals being shown further down.
