Escec
Half-Einko that inhabit the Flintoff Mountain Range and many of the cities in the south of the Einkor Kingdom. Escec consider themselves Einko despite their biological differences, and share many of the same values as pure-blooded Einko, with some cultural blending.
Additional Information
Perception and Sensory Capabilities
Like their Einko cousins, Escec possess organs in their ears that allow them to sense currents of magic. Their ears are less pointed and less sensitive. Escec can practice magic regardless of bloodline, although the exact capability depends on the genetics of their other half. Escec mages are at a higher risk of injury and accidents due to their low magic resistance, and their powers can quickly grow beyond their control.
Civilization and Culture
Major Language Groups and Dialects
Einko is spoken, along with various dialects influenced by the Cei and Scheer. Most Escecs speak with an accent that easily distingushes them from the high-class Einko.
Culture and Cultural Heritage
Escec are the cultural cousins of the Einko - in some cases, they are almost inseperable, while others take after the Cei. Escec inside the Einkor Kingdom consider themselves Einko, and many towns will have both Einko and Escec with very little difference between them. Other Escec behave more like Cei or Scheer, with traditions and beliefs that align more closely with those populations.
Escec are highly religious, but are drawn to Levvan's heroism more than the pride and nationalistic sentiments seen in high-class Einko. His great deeds and love for his people are seen as things to be emulated, and so Escec are warm, loving, brave people with a theatrical streak.
Common Customs, Traditions and Rituals
Like the Cei, mountain-dwelling Escec recieve a piercing on their left earlobe when they reach 13, which is specific to the village they grew up in and helps identify them to others.
