Kohlspire

One of the oldest settlements in Valaria, originally started by halflings, it became a safe haven for Dwarves escaping the destruction of Mazzelheim. From there the cultures mingled, dwarves showed the halflings the way of mining the earth to their advantage, and halflings in turn taught agriculture and new livestock to the dwarves. Now Kohlspire is a city of two halves, the surface of the city an agricultural hub of farming and livestock, while beneath the surface, mines and tunnels connect to the massive secondary city.

Population: 38,650 (40% Halflings, 42% Dwarves, 10% Humans, 8% other races.)
Government: The city is run by the combined rule of Registrars Yurmir McFife and Zefwyn Silvereyes. Yurmir is the dwarven representative, and runs the mines and underground section of the city. While Zefwyn represents the Halfings and runs the farming communities on the surface.
Commerce: Farming is the main source of income in Kohlspire, being home to the largest amount of farmland in Valaria. After the dwarves arrived in Kohlspire, gems and jewels found in the mines have also become a large income source.
