Ancora

The terrifying capital city of the Venarian acolytes is constantly on the move, for every day break the city is wiped away by sols rays, not destroyed mind you but banished nonetheless, only for it to reemerge at the next nightfall. It appears only on sites that have pre existing real space ruins and from there Venaris dark powers cover the ruins in quasi real shadow seeming to repair any damage done to the original ruins while still adding more to them. here acolytes flock to gather....to plot.

Demographics

Anything with a sentient mind and eyes can be corrupted by gazing into Venari thus the city is full of different species many unyet discovered by humanity. though Humans make up most of the cities population corrupted Relictas have also been spotted.

Government

Ancora is a theocracy ruled directly by Venari herself who whispers her will and orders into every Venarians ear at the same time removing any need for government.

Defences

In this twisted realm of shadow and things beyond comprehension no light or sound can be made. not even that of a Cattoric warrior and within the city limits acolytes have powers far beyond what is normally possible.

Industry & Trade

While not many know this Venarians are not solely monsters, for when day break comes they revert to their human selves and return to their homes... carrying plenty of loot from whatever ruin ancora was in that night.

Infrastructure

Dark towers often grow so high they are visible from hundreds of miles away. The city is incredibly wide spanning miles upon miles like a wretched tumor growing on the earth corrupting and assimilating any pre existing structures into its own. every building in ancora is connected as well making the taller buildings look like some kind of hive structure as shadowy tunnels connect each skyscraper to the next.

Assets

Ancora gives a unique opportunity for acolytes to search a very large area for resources and vestiges safely. and for this reason all but the bravest Topsiders steer clear of large ruins lest they be caught during a nightfall and have the supreme misfortune of having Ancora manifest around them.

Guilds and Factions

History

Venari is not powerful enough to interact with the earth itself and must corrupt sentient beings who gaze at her into zealous followers. but these followers needed a home and so she uses what comparatively little power she can to build a safe nexus for her acolytes to meet, travel, trade, coordinate, and spend leisure.

Architecture

While the insides of ruins and the original architecture of the city are real and understandable any additions Venari has made are often non euclidian and do not make sense to the un-corrupted mind. walls that seem to bend and move while observed, hallways that can go on forever, doors that can lead to different rooms depending on which side is entered. one could make 4 left turns and not be where they started.

Geography

large ruins are the only places Ancora has ever been confirmed to appear. perhapse Venari needs a pre existing layout for her city or maybe she just wants to be closer to ruins that could hold vestiges. One thing is for certain these ruins are never disturbed, acolytes simply walk around rubble or rotting offices so much so that when daybreak comes and the city and its inhabitants are sent back to where they came it is as if one was watching the original city fall and rot away all over again.

Natural Resources

Venarians never seem to take much but will often get the ruins ancient industries up and running once again. It is not uncommon for Venari to restore things like blast furnaces or mass manufacturing plants where her acolytes build all manner of corrupted items.
