History

Sols powers were discovered a mere 2 years after the hemorrhage and naturally cults around the world began worshiping him though after Venari arrived records become very scarce

Mythology & Lore

The Cattorics view Sol as a god and believe he is the path to ascension. They shun the notion that Sol was created and instead beleive he is god himself.

Divine Origins

The First Cattorics formed after the hemorrhage when Sols purifying power was found but after Venari's arrival they could no longer reproduce for once Sol came back every living human on the surface had died leaving only the purified alone in the world until discovered again during the reemergence.

Cosmological Views

Cattorics believe the earth is flat and that Sol and Venari take turns over the known side of the earth.

Tenets of Faith

Thou shall not deny the suns calling Thou shall not harm another who follows Sols Path Thous shall Co exist with others even heretics who do not follow Sol Thou Shall not recoil from nevaries influence and destroy it wherever it may be. Thou shall respect those further ahead on the path of purification and those behind.

Ethics

To a Cattoric perfection is the only means of salvation, perfection through Sol. Denying sols "gifts" is the highest of dishoner within the religion.

Worship

To enter into the Cattoric Religion the aspirant is brought outside during the day and has magnifying lenses placed over their eyes. To the aspirant this causes no pain in fact most describe this as an "out of body experience" as they witness The full spectrum of colors refracted through the lenses into their eyes. This ritual is accompanied by the fellow members of the cult performing a ceremonial dance around the aspirant this ritual goes on for no less than 24 hours, If a nightfall occurs during the ritual it is seen as a sign from Sol and the aspirant is barred from the Cattoric faith. If the ritual is a success than the aspirant will have been "purified".

Priesthood

The religion is organized by the amount of purification one has, The Pop being the purest individual on Yarth, and one of the heroes of old. her next in command are the Solarian Warriors a knightly band who's services can be purchased to fight sinful or Venarian forces. The next lowest are the priests those who have been purified but are not of the elite fighting force of the Solarians. and lastly are the aspirants those who are not yet purified or in the process of being purified.

Granted Divine Powers

A Cattoric that has been "Purified" by Sol's rays has all imperfections stripped from them, this is a gradual process and the worse stages of this take years to achieve. at first the purified will become stronger faster and more beautiful, but their soul is also cleansed with lesser negative emotions like cowardice jealousy and hate being scrubbed away. (All levels of purification cause personality changes within the individual) The more one gazes into sol the more purified they become.
Stronger,Faster, more beautiful but they lose more and more of what makes a human human. Without anger how can one feel elation? without sorrow how can one comfort another? soon the purified's body goes too far the limbs become longer and more noble but too long often coming down to the knee as height increases far beyond normal human standards. The purified lose the ability to eat and by extension their teeth fall out and large unfeathered naked wings sprout from their backs. The purified at this point become obsessed with the destruction of evil and at this stage lack the ability to live among other humans in society as even minor transgressions like forgetting to return a pen could carry a death sentence in their eyes. These are the champions of men yes,but they are usually sent into the wilderness to fight the forces of Venari come to next Nightfall.
A fully Purified individual can use their naked wings to float over the ground and jump at incredible heights their bodies are far more powerful than humanly possible capable of tearing through stone with their bare hands. They can emit light from their hair or head that is lethal to vanarians as well as grow a marble like appearance over their skin.

Political Influence & Intrigue

Cattorics while loose cannons are allowed to openly practice their faith in Human cities so as they do not forcefully convert citizens and aid the town guard/militia.
Solarian warriors the most purified of all Cattorics have their services regularly bought by Topsiders settlements so that they may protect the settlements from threats foreign and domestic specifically Nightfall events.
