New Lavern

The remains of the great forest that covered all the north after the First War. Much of that forest was destroyed, either by soldiers or the elementals raging. What remains has been claimed by the Deep Elf community as New Lavern, as their original home of Lavern was destroyed in the fire elemental rage.
The forest is a centre for all natural life, it stands as a bastion of natural existence in the face of the rising civilisation around it.

Geography

The forest is 300km across, east to west, at it's widest point and 340km long, north to south. It's 412km from tip to tip, and the whole area is shaped like a broad bean. The forest has two major river flowing through it, one in the west, cutting 40km in from the western edge, and another in the east, cutting 64km in from the eastern tip. Many tributaries split off from these two river and feed the full forest. The ground beneath the forest is largely flat but rises exponentially towards the middle until it forms Passoque Mount.

Fauna & Flora

The forest is largely boreal with many tall strong evergreen trees, though the forest is incredibly diverse and is host to all types of tree. The animals that call the forest home are almost as innumerable as the trees, and are renowned for their shyness. You can walk through the entire forest, end to end, and not see a single animal, but if you a patient and quiet you could see more animals than you'd seen in your life up to that point.

Natural Resources

The forest of New Lavern is an abundance of resources and untouched fortunes that will remain that way as the elves will defend these resources to their extinction to preserve them in their intact state.
