Master of the Arcane, Guardian of the Elusive, Hariath

God of Chaos, trickery and individuality, Archfey Hariath has been with the city ever since its founding, and he does not plan on leaving anytime soon. Although his general demeanor suggests that he takes very little things seriously, his aid has been instrumental in the community's continued survival.

5. Be playful and merry, but do no harm.

Physical Description

Identifying Characteristics

Hariath is a shapeshifter. His most common forms are that of an adult black dragon, and a semi-humanoid form. He is easily recognized in his humanoid form, because he generally designs it to be completely impossible.
During council sessions, he chooses to have between six and twelve legs, arranged from his hips like the arms of a jellyfish, more eyes than strictly necessary, draconic horns, often several faces around his head and random patches of black scales.

Personal history

Hariath was found by the Drow that aided the Empress during her revolt against the Elder Brain. At that point, he had the form of a malnourished, weakened black dragon hatchling, which he used to observe his "saviours".
During the battle against the Elder Brain and its loyalists, Hariath revealed his true form to the Empress and a few other chosen ones to shift the tides of battle in their favor.
After the city was risen to the surface, Hariath pretended to "grow up" into the shape of an adult black dragon and founded the Thieves' Guild . He aided in the initial Fall of Nyx Shadowmend after which he revealed himself to be an Archfey to the general populus and rose to deityhood, at least in the city's consciousness. Hariath returned to the Feywild to do god-knows-what, remotely protecting the city and his worshippers within, until Rrax Grapplecast and Selkie Strongtide performed a bonding ritual to allow him access to the material plane again.

Gender Identity

Hariath has stated before that he does not have a gender (or sex, for that matter), and responds to any pronoun used for him. Due to his choice of voice, most people use masculine terms to refer to him.

Sexuality

Hariath's sexuality is widely debated, but the only concrete point of reference is his apparent "marriage" to Thalia , his high priestess and leader of the Thieves' Guild in his absence.

Intellectual Characteristics

Being a powerful Fey creature, Hariath is highly intelligent and magically adept. He is capable of bending reality to a degree and is known to mess with the fabric of space and time at his leisure, most evident by the elaborate dungeons he designed around the City's defenses.

Hariath is known to suffer from several mental illnesses, including but not limited to: Depression, lack of self worth, heavy social anxiety and mild OCD. He usually hides behind chaos and questionable humor.
One of his vestiges, the Black Scales Armor, will inflict one of these conditions on the wearer per long rest.
