Kiey - The Springbringer

Goddess of Birth, Renewal and Spring

Domain: Life   Commandments:
  • There is always a good turn around the corner. Guide yourself and others through the harder times to find it.
  • Take responsibility for your charges. Be brave, be kind and be helpful.

  • Influence on the World: Kiey is seen in the medical wonder that doctors, nurses and healers bring, and in the young sprouts of plants that grow wherever sowed. She is the guiding hand for the sick and weak and supposedly the first one to kiss new babies.   Days of Worship: An extensive market of spring produce is built the fourth late-week of Halan called the Blossom Fair where people celebrate the new life that Kiey has given and thank her for watching over the growth of all. On their birthdays people generally thank Kiey, and thus potted plants and flowers are a common gift.   Prayers Especially farmers and pregnant families will offer their prayers to Kiey and sometimes rulers during their appointment ceremony will publically pray to Kiey to allow their reign to flourish.   Rituals For many worshipers of Kiey the act of bathing or washing with flower petals is considered ritualistic. This stems from the Order of Spring and how they will wash their hands in a disinfectant gained from the seeds of a flower before helping patients.   Places of Worship Public bath houses and public birthhouses are usually run by the Order of Spring. They very frequently have a chamber of worship installed.   Symbols Her symbol is a sun rising between two hills, which stands for the new beginning of each new day but can also be interpreted as the head of a newborn.   Depiction She is usually depicted as a pregnant woman in a flowy dress and budding flowers woven through her short curls.
