Yesugen: Bringer of Doom
Yesugen
"Am I wrong? I earned my name, not like you. Not like that witch. You're nothing but her--"
Physical Description
General Physical Condition
Yesugen is frightful to behold. She is tall and has a head full of tangled white hair. Her eyes glow as her expressions shift between fear and frenzy, her muscles contorting to maintain a 'stoic' demeanor. The deep, steady breaths that she uses to calm herself are nerve-wracking.
Mental characteristics
Personal history
Yesugen was born the daughter of a prolific warlord, the first Orc to have breached the walls of Trel. As was the custom, the mothers brought their children to see what purpose their lives served. She watched, clinging to her mother, as her father butchered the warrior priests, laying waste to their temple. She saw innocents fall, similarly clutching the religious icons to their chests, their cries stifled by the relentless axe. She heard the voice of thunder.
In a final act of desperation and vengeance, the priests cast a powerful spell directed towards those who bore children. Lightning burst from their conduit, electrocuting Orc and man alike. Her mother fell, and her world went dark.
Yesugen was thrown from her mother's arms, falling onto the muddied ground among the dead. When her father eventually found her, he saw that she had changed. The child was no longer his. Her eyes were pure white, and her skin electric to the touch, making the hairs on his fists stand on end. Raising her above his head, her father called her Yesugen, named after a goddess of storms.
She grew, silently, ever watching. Her screams would pierce through the night, and she hid from the stars themselves. She was a strange, melancholy child, never speaking despite what her father tried. Then, one day, she stopped looking at him. She would not respond to his voice, going as far as to avoid his immediate family. Within a few days, her father was captured and beheaded by the Trel. Her uncle, likewise, was felled under a volley of arrows. Others would come to protect her throughout her childhood to honor their former warlord, only to be found dead before their time. It desensitized her.
Despite her self-loathing, other Orcs noticed her powers. Her following grew overnight, as many prepared to enact the madness that plagued her.
Personality Characteristics
Motivation
Fear motivates her every step. She fears the End, her pale eyes seeing within the stars what no other living creature has seen. She fears those surrounding her, looking for her leadership, forcing her away from the hermitage she desperately craves. In her eyes, the skies are ever-burning, filled with unimaginable horrors, and corpses surround her, seeing laughing death, those unaware that they're a moment away from eternity.
The reflection she sees within the waters shows her demise.
Hygiene
Yesugen is unhygienic, even compared to other Orcs.
Social
Contacts & Relations
"-and where are you going?"
If she could, Yesugen would flee, hiding herself from the knowledge she bears. She knows her fate and has seen the death of those who follow her. Yet, her closest companion keeps her there. Ajirai acts as her personal guard and maintains some semblance of order among the other Orcs.
Yesugen has seen his death hundreds of times, yet he continues to live, riding after her as she attempts to escape her burdens, dragging her back. Although she despises him, he has proven her visions wrong. He binds her to this suffering, yet his existence brings hope.
Mannerisms
Yesugen sits alone for hours, avoiding the company of others. Her eyes are downcast, for she fears to look upon the skies, or into the eyes of those that look to her for guidance.
Speech
She has no voice of her own, channeling the spirits of the End Times, whose dark words she mutters. Depending on who hides within her, her voice changes accordingly. Her words form as thunder, reverberating with power when a likely spirit possesses her. Yet, others will speak quietly through her, a hag-like voice crooning, filled with malicious desires.
When she is alone, her voice is gone. Her eyes see the end, and her lips move to form silent words. Warnings. She is accompanied by those who claim to understand what she says, to relay it to those following her.
Relationships
History
Yesugan received visions of this creature, tasked by the spirits to sever its many heads. However, when she found a fragment of its form, she suffered a mortal wound. Calling the retreat, Ajirai led the wounded Orcs away, allowing the creature to slip away and nurse its wounds.
