Abby

Abigail Blackwood was a human leli from Earth. Also known as Abby, Lady Abby and, later, Queen Abby. She was Prince Feyrith's second concubine and, once he became King Feyrith, she became his wife. One of the less conventional Queens, Abby also trained and acted as a Knight for many years. Not something that was typically allowed of concubines, Queens, or leli in general. Nevertheless, King Feyrith changed the law to allow any leli to become Knights if they so wished.

Alongside Queen Meg, Abby was one of the more influential Queens in Kaylux history, as well as one of the last. Not as much is known about Abby, though contemporary accounts do mention her being friendly it seems she had fewer close friends whose written records of Abby survived to the modern era. What we do know tells the story of a Queen that was incredibly driven toward defending those who needed it, and protecting her people regardless of who they were.

There is a story of her time as a knight that details a quest Abby underwent to retrieve a rare flower from near the peak of the mountains of Breazar because it was needed to craft a cure for some rare illness a child she encountered was suffering from. The illness likely wouldn't have killed the child, though it would have left them chronically ill, and yet, if this tale is true, Abby still underwent this journey. Even if this specific story is nothing but a fiction, it does tell us a great deal about how the people of her time viewed Abby.

Abby arrived in Xogia sometime in 1515, though the exact time of her arrival is impossible to pinpoint further than that. When she arrived in Kaylux, she was offered to Prince Feyrith as a gift, which he hurried to accept. It is said that it took time for Abby to warm to Feyrith and Meg both, but within the year, the three were inseparable.

While the story of Feyrith, Meg and Abby is known to be one of the great loves in all of history, it is unknown what the exact relationships were between the members of the trio. It was frowned upon, at the time, for the King's partners to be romantically involved with each other, but there are a number of accounts from the time that have led many to believe that Meg and Abby had such a relationship, likely with the full knowledge of Feyrith. Feyrith and Meg were, without a doubt, deeply in love. The question then lays with Feyrith and Abby.

It would be easy, and quite logical, to assume that Feyrith and Abby were as in love as the other pairings within this trio. Without question, they adored each other and considered each other to be very close and dear to their hearts. But some have argued that there is no evidence to say that Abby and Feyrith were anything other than very close friends who were both deeply in love with Meg.

Such a dynamic would be entirely typical if Meg were the King, but as she was one of the Queens, it would be something the trio would need to hide from the public. Others have argued that the fact that Feyrith married both Meg and Abby points more toward the idea that all three were romantically involved with the other two members of the trio.

There is, of course, no way to know for certain. However, even with these questions, it remains obvious that the three of them loved each other deeply. Once they came together, the trio would remain together until their deaths, and even long afterwards, as they were buried together.

The trio ruled Kaylux for twenty years, setting up a number of systems to create and maintain a golden era for the country. After those first twenty years, they then spent an addition eight years putting a more democratic system into place and making sure that it would last long after they would retire. Though many historians agree that Meg was the true mastermind behind this new system, Feyrith and Abby of course had their own hand in helping create this new era for Kaylux.

After this task was finished, the trio retired in their middle age to live the rest of their lives comfortably. There is less written about them during this time, though some accounts suggest that Abby would still take on quests here and there, never quite able to give up on helping those around her. There are some things that suggest that the trio played a role in several major events that would occur in the years following their retirement, though these stories are all unconfirmed and it is likely they will remain nothing more concrete than myth.

Queen Abby is a beloved historical figure to this day, with many modern leli viewing her as an inspirational figure. There are a number of charities named after her and the term 'abbic' being used by some maaron who do not conform to gender ideals in one way or another, inspired by Abby having been both a Knight and a Queen, as well as the theory that she was only romantically involved with Meg.
