Within Drakonia there is a series of especially deadly, large and varied reptiles we often call Diresauros. We have come up with names for only a few, but one, we nicknamed after the word meaning: King. Greatest. They who stand above all, and are feared. But it's ironic, so few know where that word actually comes from; Rex. It came from the deeds of a single, terrifying, ancient Deva from before the rupture of the world itself, and her family lives on.— Atennus Tresmenne in "Myths or Reality?"
Long ago, there was a Godling-born Deva named Rex, the child of an unknown god's avatar. Born in a place that no longer has a name and already old in even Fae terms before the first cities sprawled across the land. She lived a warrior's life full of blood, battle and death. Gaining power the more she fought, the more she died, the more she rose again.
When it was nearly time for her to ascend to godhood, she spent her last years in the human realm ensuring that her legacy would live on. Rex singled out two fae twins to take as her lovers. Over the years her fickle favoritism planted a seed of jealousy between the two brothers, and war-like Rex was never one to resolve conflicts. Eventually, the two bothers fought to the death over her, both suffering fatal wounds.
The final mark Rex left upon the realm. Now from the brothers there exists two branches of the Rex family. The line of Aureus and the line of Argentus.
