The Cold Drink

The infamous tavern/inn ran by Rhogar Snowstrider, friend to all as long as you don't steal from him or hurt his friends, seriously he'll smash your head in if you do.
The tavern features a fully stocked bar and menu that'll surely leave you wanting more, all prepared by the big lovable Dragonborn himself.

Purpose / Function

To be a tavern and inn for travelling adventurers new to the city and for the hard working denizens of Embervale.
If you're my party, you probably shouldn't read this.

Within the story however, the tavern is to provide a safe place to the adventurers to rest in, as long as they maintain a good relationship with Rhogar Snowstrider and aren't for some reason unable to go there, like for instance if they were wanted in or exhiled from the city of Embervale.
It also may serve the function of being one of the many places where they may be able to obtain a quest or two if they seek one out or if a quest giver seeks them out!
It can also function as a place for them to gather information about certain things however it's no library.

Alterations

A whole floor was added to the building to compensate for the amount of customers that'd be staying per week.
The stairway has a built-in mechanism to turn it into a ramp for people who cannot easily get up the stairs.
The roof was painted light blue when initially renovated to match the name.
A new bar counter was put in as the old one was broken and rotting.

Architecture

The inn is a three story stone-walled building made of locally harvested granite. It features a large cellar which spans the size of the floor above.
All of the doors and shutters are made from a dark oak wood harvested form the trees in the nearby forest.
The rooms are all fairly well kept and all of them feature a bed, a desk with a chair, a dresser that includes a mirror, a chest, a closest that comes prefilled with extra blankets and pillows. The rooms are big enough to accomodate the common adventurer and all their equipment they may be carrying with them.
The floor is made out of a fine oak wood from the nearby forest, not polished though as Rhogar thinks that's "Too fancy". The stairs, and the ramp that comes over it when the mechanism is activated, however are stone just like the walls.

History

You probably shouldn't read this either.

Before Rhogar ever owned the Cold Drink, it used to be an inn called The Celestial Respite, it went out of business after being badly damaged by a dragon. The previous owner couldnt afford the repairs and thus was forced to sell the inn to someone else.

This too.

Before it's unfortunate closure, The Celestial Respite was actually a fairly successful place of business, many spoke well of it and the owner was well regarded throughout the town. The inn was a great place for travelling adventurers to stay for any period of time while they were in the city,

Same goes for this.

When Rhogar first bought the tavern, it was in disrepair and needed many renovations, both because of the dragon attack and because of general use. Most of the furniture needed to be replaced along with many of the barrels of drinks in the cellar.
