General Physical Condition

As expected from one of the Northup Alliance's most elite,  Piñón is in excellent health, and has access to the best healthcare that the Alliance has to offer. Whilst some of the Alliances more wealthy (and risk-taking) individuals may have access to more advanced technologies, such as the outlawed Xahian panacea-vaccine, Piñón is in the prime of his life, and can be easily expected to live well into his second century.

Personal history

Tomas Piñón was born on the world of Chara, in the system Beta Canum Venaticorum, to a family of career politicians. From an early age, he was exposed to the world of political intrigue and governance at the highest levels, particularly when his father, Javier Piñón, was elected as Senator for the system. Graduating from Chara's Holden University for Political Science, Piñón joined the Unconditional Unionist Party, much to the distaste of his family, which had traditionally been supporters of the Prime Formation League. The young Piñón was ambitious, however, and saw the UUP as his best chance for success.
Skilfully working his way through UUP bureaucracy, from minor intern to Senatorial First Secretary, Piñón got his chance when his immediate boss, the Senator for one of Chara's neighbouring Sectors died in a shuttle accident, forcing a by-election. Using his pedigree as the son of an existing Senator, and his formidable political acumen, Piñón got himself nominated by the party for the candidacy, and then in an election campaign perceived by many experts as masterful, was elected Senator.
Once in the Senate, Piñón quickly got a reputation for a quick wit, and often sparred with his father across the Senate floor, much to political commentator and pundits' delight. Actively courting the attention of the major military-industrial corporations, Piñón made no secret of his intentions to run for presidency when the position became available, openly denouncing the Federation of Xah at almost every opportunity and highlighting the dangers that they represented to Alliance, and human, freedom. When the next Presidential elections rolled around, Piñón announced his intention to run, quickly receiving the backing of both his party, and its most important donors and backers.
When each Member-state announced their candidacy for President, it was to no-ones surprise when, over only three of rounds of voting, Piñón quickly eliminated his rivals and was elected the 148th Alliance President.
