Right and Future Queen

Nyx is the Crown Princess of Antioch, set to take the throne from her father when he passes or is deposed by the Senate. He'd rather marry her off, but the Senate would cast him out for sure, leaving Nyx as the heir to the throne.
She is an interesting case among the nobility of Antioch (entirely comprised of her family members), as she will actually attend meetings of the Senate. This isn't unheard of, pre se, but it is very uncommon - especially for a Princess. She has even gone as far as to make propositions, some of which have been taken to the Senate floor and voted on. To date, three of her propositions have been ratified by the Senate.
She is also somewhat unique, as she has requested that the 31 Thilykae currently assigned to her teach her how to fight. While they certainly aren't permitted to teach her all that they know, as their primary objective - the thing their lives depend on - is the prevention of harm to Nyx, they have indulged her in basic technique and dummy sparring. She's no elite warrior, but she'd likely best even her brothers in a fight.
She met the Renfields (Enoch and Angel) while she was in Kalastrad - part of one of her father's many attempts to get her married off - but, as she was only 10, there were few takers for her hand. Still, the Renfields were wonderful hosts to her, bonding as an odd amalgam of sibling and parental dynamics. When the time came that she return to Antioch, Angel told her they would name their baby (she was pregnant at the time) after her. Ever since, they have written each other regularly, and, true to Angel's word, the Princess of Arkham bears her name.
That hospitality may be what has led her to be host to the various diplomats and visitors to the palace. She acknowledges that the servants can and will do the task, but she wishes to go the extra mile. However, with the most recent Ambassador of the Arts to come to the palace, that may not be all there is to it.
