Azrael

Azrael is one of the most widely mythologized individuals in all of Wyrth. For starters, he's the Archangel of Retribution in the Izaric faith. He is also recognized as the Lord of Ash in Lách Doire, and is believed to be the original Lord of Iron in folk Dumylan traditions. Much of the lore surrounding him is rooted in the belief that he was once a mortal man. There are wildly differing accounts as to who he might have been, but the majority say something to the effect of "a man, consumed by the fires of hatred, became vengeance itself; his bones became iron, his flesh was ash; his blood burned like the sun and his eyes swallowed the light". Most scholars see this as the confirmation that all of them are referring to the same individual, as the accounts predate the Age of Exploration, and thus peoples from Olíga and Ymrak sharing common stories is unlikely without a tangible link.
