Vespauri

One of the most dangerous creatures in the Brightwater, the danger from this animal comes not from its individual size, but its communal nature. Vespauri are never found alone, and instead live in large colonies which appear to have no size limit. These colonies behave as one organism, passing nutrients and electrical signals between each other. Each Vespauri is approximately 1 ft in diameter, and appears like a regular jellyfish with a large fin on its top. Generally, all Vespauri have these features, however, the sizes of each can change over the course of its life, adapting to the needs of the colony, with the higher they are in the colony, the larger their fins, while the lower they are, the larger their tentacles. Although they can take some nutrients from the sun, they require meat to properly sustain themselves over longer periods of time. These colonies float just below the water surface collecting solar energy through their fins, while attempting to catch any prey underneath them with their long, stinging tentacles. They are extremely dangerous as their sting is enough to paralyze a human, and are difficult to kill due to their individuality.
