Sylro Eagerheel
Many say that, in the city of Drury, anything can be bought or sold - as long as you have enough. There are none who quite so embody that sentiment than Sylro Eagerheel. His elf ancestors were among those displaced from Estalia during The First Estalian-Disorganized War, and ultimately found themselves as slaves. This was the hand Sylro was ultimately dealt at birth; the young slave to a rich Drurian merchant, whose mother died during birth and whose father was sold shortly after. The gossip houses of the city speak in whispered tones of what happened to the young boy during his childhood, for there was obviously something broken deep down in the man he became.
After he had come of age, he was purchased by an Estalian merchant who had hoped for a travelling companion to keep him company on the long road home. This, however, was short lived, for the merchant found a dagger through his heart the first night out of the city.
His rise to power was a sharp ascension into depravity. He returned to the city around the same time that elvish wares from Clarenware Woods and Sylvia came into fashion. He used his native heritage to freely trade with other members of his race, and when their arts and knick-knacks fell out of style, those same ships carried back their elvish trading partners to Drury as slaves. From there he amassed further and further wealth; silks, whores, fruits, and knives. It was never enough.
After several years, he final got his revenge against his previous owner by purchasing his seat at the Group of Nine. Nobody knew how he managed to convince the man to sell his seat, however, the now-forgotten man was shortly found murdered on his front step.
Although many uneducated people think that the Drow of Eryndlyn are the ultimate schemers, those in Drury know that the most conspiring of elves is amongst them. His plots stretch the city, and his shadow can be felt behind every street corner. Despite his enemies attempts to curb his power, they quickly find themselves outmatched. For in a city where anything can be bought, the most powerful is not just the one with the most money, but the one who makes the smartest investments.
