Spored Boar

The increased travel between the surface and underdark has leads to several strange interactions between the two ecosystems, however, none are quite as strange - or as deadly - as the Spored Boar. This animal is an example of a symbiotic relationship between a host and several various species of fungi. These fungi live in the thick fur of the boar, sticking out in various shapes and sizes. Although these fungi are mostly non-threatening to their host due to its strong constitution, they can cause several illness amongst others which smell their spores, including drowsiness, sickness, and death. In exchange for their help hunting various prey as well as the natural armour provided, the boar serves as both transportation to spread the spores, and food upon it's eventual death. These animals are considered highly dangerous and unpredictable, and it is recommended to avoid them at all costs.
