Game of Tomes / Tourney of Tales

The Game of Tomes is an event for writers in the Twitch community that runs side-by-side with the National Novel Writing Month events. It is a team-based game in which the players choose a house to represent and redeem their word counts towards their houses over the course of the month. These words must be written and redeemed in Game of Tomes streams on Twitch. This game runs three times a year: in November for Game of Tomes; and in April and July for Game of Tomes: Tourney of Tales.

Word Auctions

All Twitch bits collected by the WriterGreg Twitch Channel and SigmaXDcoach Twitch Channel during the month of Game of Tomes, Tourney of Tales, or NaNoWriMo will be donated to Kids Need To Read.

All of the words written by WriterGreg, or donoted for the auction total, will be auctioned off via a Twitch Poll according to the following rules.

Voting Rules

1. Auctions occur at the end of "Writing Marathons" at the beginning of each hour (9:00 AM, 10:00 AM, 11:00 AM, etc.)
2. A "!rollcall" will be asked via chat. All GoT House Members in the chat must respond to be included in the poll.
   Only the first five responding houses will be included. Members of Houses must be present to participate and win.
   Rollcalls end when the "rest" timer ends. If no one answers the rollcall, the auction is skipped.
3. Two houses must be present for a vote. (See the note below If only one house responds to the !rollcall).
4. All GoT House Members are given one vote. Additional votes are available to purchase with Bits. (Bits are donated to Kids Need To Read.)
5. All auctions must have at least 500 words collected for the polling to proceed. (Please see the co-working note below.)
6. All auctions must have at least seven (7) votes for the results to be considered valid. Votes may be the "free-votes" from multiple house members OR purchased with bits.
   If six or fewer votes are collected, the words will be carried over to the next auction. Votes and bits WILL NOT be carried over.
7. IF A SINGLE HOUSE ANSWERS THE !ROLLCALL, an auction with one house option (listed twice so the poll works) to collect the required minimum number of votes.
8. POLL TIES are broken by the order the houses answered the !rollcall. The faster houses in the rollcall will get the words.

Co-Working Note

Between WriterGreg and SigmaXDcoach, Greg will be streaming 8+ hours each weekday and 4+ hours on Saturdays. This will require Greg to work on some non-writing life coach tasks or personal development habits. During these times, words will not be produced. However, words DONATED for the auction may be collected to ensure charity polls continue during these times.

Bits are a virtual good you can buy and use to Cheer. A Cheer is a chat message that uses Bits, and includes animated emotes to amplify your voice in chat and celebrate the moment. Cheering is another way to support Partners and Affiliates, similar to subscribing.
