Learning a Language:
Learning a language takes 9 full workweeks, or 45 days, studying for 8 hours a day. However, learning a language is tiered, and understanding of a language can begin to form earlier. A player makes a Intelligence check during their lessons. On a roll of 5 or less, their lesson fails. On a roll of 20 or more, they are especially engaged, and complete two lessons.

Crafting Items
Eyestalk Wand
This stalk takes 1 workweek(40 hours) to craft using tinker's tools.
The stalks of the spectator are less powerful than those of the beholder it consumed to be summoned. However, their potential to be made into wands by artificers are the same. When crafted properly, they continue to contain an arcane charge that allows them to discharge the same types of magical rays they did inlife. PARALYZE RAY
This wand has 5 charges. While holding this wand, you may spend an action and 1 charge to shoot a magical ray of energy at a target within 120 feet of you. The type of ray depends on the type of beholder eye stalk that the wand was crafted from. This wand is made from a paralyze raw stalk, and casts a paralyze ray(DC 13 Con save.)
