Calico Jack's Lucky Cats

Calico Jack is a male Tabaxi with the appropriate calico coloration of orange, black, and white. He can get distracted easily, especially if he sees something fluffy or reflective. He will also gush over any adorable pet or animal that he comes across, having never met a creature that he didn't want to take care of and nurture.

Shop Appearance

Calico Jack operates out of his pirate ship shaped hot air balloon. The ship shaped basket is large enough to carry Calico Jack and his goods, but very little else. As such, all transactions are made over the built in counter on the right side of the vessel. Inside, there is a small chest that folds out into a bed when Calico Jack kicks it. Otherwise, much of the free space of the ship is taken over by cages and tanks as well as a fair amount of feed to supply them.

Lucky Black Cat:

After a successful transaction involving one of the other pets for sale, Calico Jack will mention a special pet that he saves for his favorite customers. He reaches into a black chest with an emblem of a cat on the top, and pulls out a young black cat. When an individual bonds with this cat, they can use a bonus action to switch places with it, as long as they are within 120 feet of each other. It takes 1d6 days to bond with this cat, and the cat has base feline stats.
Chest of the Lucky Cat:Someone with knowledge of magical items may know what this item is. With a DC 15 Arcana or History Check, an individual will recognize this trunk and know that if a cat should die of old age or injury, the chest will produce a new cat in 3 days.
