Skyseers

Millennia ago, before the current age of temple magics, various ancient traditions tried to make sense of the universe and allowed their adepts to grasp uncanny power. Most are long lost in the mists of time, but one tradition, that of the skyseers, remains. Skyseers favor the night and are experts in the movements of the heavens and the powers of the sky. Even in this modern age, most ship’s captains won’t sail beyond sight of shore without a skyseer aboard to navigate. What truly sets skyseers apart however, are their prophecies. They’re rarely clear and they can’t be forced, but when a skyseer reads portents, it’s worth paying attention to.
Within the game, skyseers are a theme that PCs can choose.

Career

Qualifications

Although a few scholars have tried scribe their knowledge, they refuse to pass on their wisdom to any but a true apprentice, and through any method except traditional verbal lore and rituals. Unfortunately, there are many who claim to be skyseers, and there’s no way to tell true skyseer from scheming charlatan.

Social Status

Mostly low, except for those few who have gained a reputation as being a true skyseer. Then they have respect as a keeper of an ancient tradition.
