The Antiquities Session 8: Nightmares and Blood Doors

General Summary

Martinus the 14th

After Mispira awoke from a blissful rest (Nak offers water, Leront is looking confused), the party continued onward through the dungeon, fighting dust mephits through various unique maneuvers (Heidi yeets Tinika who piggybacks Leront, Mispira gets put to sleep and blinded, Tinika gets two mephit cores). Among other things, the party encountered: a talking mirror, a statue with wings (Heidi took it), 5 dragon face carvings in arrangement around sixth on a turtle shell, (Nak saw Mispira's demon during meditation in mirror reflection), and an infuriatingly sturdy stone door. On the other side of the door and down a hallway, a group of kobolds was eliminated (Tinika found loot- Coins: 11cp, 11sp, 44gp. Items: 1 potion of healing, 1 yellow diamond elemental gem. Mispira is frazzled by a mural of nightmare demon on the ceiling. Parendor used Draconic Breath to kill a lot of kobolds), as were the giant spiders in the next room (2 units of giant spider venom, 1 unit of giant spider venom sac).
(Signs of a dragon: claw marks on the walls and blue scales) Leront had a close call with a guillotine and the discovery of a sleeping blue dragon in its lair filled with coin and fortune aplenty. Not wanting to take their chances with a dragon, some members of the party looked for somewhere to rest (Leront, Mispira, Nak, Tinika, and Parendor), while some were collecting the riches they could from outside of the lair (Heidi, Luther). Remembering the layout of the prior level and high investigation roll, the hidden entrance to the room was found, once the five entered, they were shut inside the room with no way of escape unless someone gave blood to the chalice in the hand of the statue of the dread vampire. (Nak was tormented by spirits unable to pass on, Leront was unable to give blood to the chalice.) Mispira offered her blood to the chalice and was frozen with fear as she was taunted by the demon in her mind in response to her action. Seeing her in such a state, Leront carried her out of the room; bleeding and hysterical, into the hallway. Mispira's blood overflowing from the lever that opened the entrance initially.
